Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate - Vitamin B6
Pyridoxal-5-phosphate (PLP or P-5-P) is considered the most metabolically active coenzyme and supplement of vitamin B6, and the most bioavailable form of this vitamin.

Vitamin B6 - Pyridoxine
There is basically no toxicity with pyridoxine at reasonable daily doses. Regular oral intake of 200 mg and intravenous doses of 200 mg have shown no side effects. (neuropathy treatment, pyridoxal-5-phosphate, neuropathy vitamin)

A Natural Approach to Diabetes
Many diabetics have low blood levels of B6. Levels are even lower in diabetics with nerve damage. Supplementation with Vitamins B6 and B12, including a form of B12 called methylcobalamin, play an important role in the prevention and treatment of many forms of diabetic neuropathy. Neuropathy - Nutrient Therapies
Biotin, choline, inositol, and thiamine are B vitamins that have all been found useful in treating the peripheral and autonomic neuropathies found in diabetes. In addition, Alpha-lipoic acid has long been used in Europe for the treatment of peripheral neuropathy in diabetics. Acetyl-L-Carnitine has been found to have important links to peripheral nerve function. (Diabetic Neuropathy, Benfotiamine, Diabetic Product, Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate)

Magnesium Is Important For Heart Health
Since magnesium is required for muscle contraction, and the heart is a muscle, the mineral is related to heart abnormalities and even to heart attacks. Magnesium depletion predisposes one to hypertension and cardiac arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats) and may predispose to narrowing of blood vessels and perhaps myocardial infarction (damage to heart muscle, which often precedes a heart attack). Read more about the importance of magnesium in your daily diet. (Heart Disease and Diabetes Nutrition)

Vitamin D: Is It A Miracle?
Vitamin D may also play a role in preventing Type 2 diabetes. One study, in the journal Diabetes Care, looked at data from 4,000 men and women. Vitamin D levels were significantly lower in the 187 people who developed Type 2 diabetes than in those who didn’t get diabetes. And those with the highest blood levels of vitamin D were 40% less likely to get diabetes. (Vitamin D Deficiency, Type 2 Diabetes, Glucose Metabolism)
